Hail Metalheads!
We have a huge update on Up the hammers festival VIII which will take place on 8&9 March 2013. First of all we can now announce the headliner! A band that is a myth in Greece, the Tennessee epic metal warriors MEDIEVAL STEEL will headline Saturday night! This would have never happened without the help of my longtime friend Oliver Weinsheimer of Keep it true festival. Originally Medieval Steel was planned for the October up the hammers special edition. Keep it true started everything with Medieval Steel and gave us the chance to see the band live and the plan was they do them in April and we do them in October. We had major issues though coming up with a suitable headliner for Up the hammers March edition this year. So… the demand for Medieval Steel in Greece, the early sold out of Keep it true and the brotherhood of the 2 festivals made the decision easier. This is the spirit of the underground! Apart from that we have new announcements that complete the line up. Jess Cox’s Tygers of Pan tang will perform an exclusive set with songs of the Legendary album “Wild Cat”. Another great addition is the Chicago based cult heavy metal band Damien Thorne performing songs from the classic “Sign of the Jackal” album and some new tunes. Last but not least the Danish cover Mercyfull Diamond! These guys are the closest thing you can get to King Diamond!

As far as the ticket price is concerned we decided to decrease the already low prices of the tickets respecting the difficulties many Greek people have to survive in this fucking crisis. Please note that this happens despite the increasing expenses and taxes, we hope this will be rewarded by the fans.
